Will Conor Mcgregor Fight Nate Diaz Again
Conor McGregor may have been on the sidelines for almost a year but the biggest star in MMA has remained relevant by talking up his return and taking shots at his rivals.
The Irishman, who suffered a gruesome leg injury at UFC 264 in July 2021, has just begun training again and is expected to make his comeback in the summer. Who he will fight remains a mystery but three men certainly appear to be at the forefront of McGregor's mind.

During his time away from fighting McGregor has seriously bulked up and is now intent on making a run at the welterweight division that is currently being dominated by Usman.
In an ideal world, 'Notorious' wants a title fight in his first bout back despite coming off a long layoff and back-to-back defeats against Dustin Poirier.
"I believe Usman for the 170-pound title for my comeback is the one I'm eyeballing at the minute," McGregor recently said in an interview with the MacLife.
"Now I haven't really said that to no one to be honest, I've only been thinking that for the last couple of days because for what cut the weight?
"I've already won the 155-pound title, I got myself down to a lightweight frame, but I'm big now.

"I feel big, I feel strong, I feel healthy, I've got good energy. I'm coming back after a gruesome injury. I do not want to deplete myself, there should be no need to deplete myself."
Usman has pretty much cleaned out the 170lb division and is currently considered the best fighter in MMA but McGregor is not impressed by 'The Nigerian Nightmare.'
"I feel confident against Usman," he said. "A jab happy, sloppy, orthodox wrestler with no submissions whatsoever. What's he gonna do? Where's the danger here? I don't see a danger with him.
"His ground-and-pound isn't strong, plus he's on the older side. And then plus the world is to be took again. The triple crown.
"No one's ever obtained three knockouts in three weight divisions moving up like I have already, but no one's ever obtained three UFC world titles cross three divisions like I will do also if we make this fight."

NATE DIAZ
Another, more likely, opponent for McGregor's comeback is Diaz.
They have fought each other twice and currently hold one win each ahead of a potential tiebreaker trilogy fight.
McGregor has expressed an interest in facing the California native ahead of UFC 264 when he assured fight fans that he will complete his trilogy with Diaz at some point.
"It's for sure gonna happen, it must happen," he said. "We're one and one and it must happen. It will happen and I look forward to the day."

As of late, Diaz has distanced himself from the bout as he is hoping to take the final fight on his contract as soon as possible in order to explore lucrative options outside of the UFC.
It's starting to look like now or never for the trilogy fight and it certainly seems that the UFC are keen even if the two fighters are talking up different options right now.
Diaz has been calling out Dustin Poirier ever since the former interim lightweight champion suffered a third-round submission defeat to Charles Oliveira at UFC 269 in December.
DUSTIN POIRIER
Poirier has also been angling for a fight with Diaz but the UFC, for whatever reason, doesn't want to match them up. Perhaps, they'll consider booking 'The Diamond' against McGregor for the fourth time instead.
After quickly stopping Poirier when they first fought in 2015, 'Mystic Mac' was knocked out inside two rounds when the pair met again at UFC 257 in 2021.

A third fight was inevitable but ended somewhat inconclusively, although some say Poirier was on the verge of stopping McGregor again at UFC 264 before the unfortunate injury.
In the immediate aftermath of his trilogy fight with Poirier, 'Notorious' was dead set on facing him again after suffering what he called an 'illegitimate' loss in reference to the doctor stoppage.
"Make no mistake they are not looking forward to what is coming. I will be back and it will be settled. Once and for all," wrote on social media post-fight.

As of late, McGregor has stopped talking about Poirier and seems to have moved away from the idea of fighting him again. The only time he's spoken about the Louisiana native is to make fun of him for losing to Charles Oliveira.
"Embarrassing night for him alright," McGregor wrote on Twitter after UFC 269. "That closed guard game. Wtf was that. Wow! Shocking."
After months of shying away from McGregor fight talk, Poirier took to social media on Wednesday and suggested that the fourth fight could happen next.
On the same day, his greatest rival returned to sparring for the first time since breaking his leg last summer. McGregor looked in great shape as he traded shots with his partner and edged closer to his return to action.
